Months ago I joined a team of 13 others to go to Ireland to preach the promised hope of Jesus Christ, minister healing to the broken hearted and to release freedom to the captives. The clock is ticking and I have a mountain of things that should get done before I go, but for this moment I needed to stop.
I needed to forget about what all needs to get done in the physical and cry out for all that I am asking God to do in the spiritual. Captivity sucks. I have been held captive to my own sin and shame. I have been imprisoned by thoughts and lies. I have been a slave to pain and guilt.
Almost 14 years ago I tasted a small amount of freedom, and from then on I have never been the same. My relationship with Jesus shifted. It was no longer about obligation or even commitment (as my pastor so boldly put it this past Sunday – click here to listen). Our intimacy grew and our relationship moved towards forgiveness, grace, mercy, identity, healing, restoration and freedom. The journey continues, but my heart leaps when I experience with others the freedom of Jesus Christ.
This is God’s heart for all — to give life to the dead and [who] calls things that are not as though they were Romans 4:17. Would you pray over the next few days while our team is in Ireland for God’s heart to be released? Pray for hearts to move towards repentance and that each would experience the overwhelming, transforming, life-giving love of Jesus Christ. Pray for every life to know who they are in Christ. Pray for a super-natural work of Holy Spirit, healing and revelation from Heaven. And pray for the hearts of Ireland to be reclaimed for the Kingdom of God.
